The National Forest System is comprised of over 191 million acres in 42 states. Roadless areas make up 58.5 million acres of National Forest lands in 38 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The Roadless Area Conservation rule protects these 58.5 million acres of our last wild forests for present and future generations to enjoy.
